Under ObamaCare, firms are required by law to fund contraception for employees, even if they are Catholic and it violates their religion. Such a provision, of course, is a massive violation of the First Amendment as it forces people to go against their religion. How this administration gets away with such despicable tyranny, which violates something as necessary to a free society as freedom of religion, is beyond me.

Now the Department of Justice is trying to enforce this dreadful provision. A family who owns a small business in Colorado, Hercules Industries, is now being harassed by the Department of Justice who is trying to force them to violate their consciousness under the ACA. Instead of being sensitive to the religious liberties and beliefs of the Newland family, who owns Hercules, the Department of Justice is continuing to abuse their power and is, instead, mocking the Newlands. “Hercules Industries has ‘made no showing of a religious belief which requires that [it] engage in the [HVAC] business,” the DOJ said in a statement.

The Newlands are responding with a lawsuit of their own from the Alliance Defending Freedom. The ADF said in a brief:

[T]o the extent the government is arguing that its mandate does not really burden the Newlands because they are free to abandon their jobs, their livelihoods, and their property so that others can take over Hercules and comply, this expulsion from business would be an extreme form of government burden.

The Newland’s business, which employs 265 people, is now under a lawsuit from the DOJ. That’s right, the DOJ is trying to destroy 265 people simply thanks to this administration’s petty, despicable despotic urge to force individuals to violate their religion.

Hopefully this ridiculous oppression will be shot down in court. It is outrageous that the government is trying to force businesses to provide a service in the first place; it is even more ridiculous that they are trying to violate first amendment rights to free religion in the process. Forcing a family into choosing between their livelihood and their religion is a decision which no government should ever force anyone into.
